Sunny Days=Beach

We love the beach! It's one of my favorite places to take the kids when summer comes. I think this is the first time I've taken the kids in February since we moved to Mukilteo. Yay sun!

First of all...I wore sandals...in February!!! (So I took a picture because that's so rare):
Here's Levi enjoying his favorite pastime - rock throwing:

Here's Leah enjoying her favorite pastime...posing cutely! (Also note: short hair - yay for easier mornings!)

Warm enough to take coats off!

Levi was fairly uncooperative but we got a cute one!

Levi calls this his "skateboarding picture"-lol!
Conquering the top of the monkey bars!

Levi cuteness!

Stroopwaffles...who knew?

Mom and dad, did you realize that when you brought Ken some Stroopwaffles back from Holland you were going to change his life forever? Well, now you do. See, apparently, when he tasted his first Stroopwaffle after your trip, he put his love for them on the back burner for awhile. Then enter his new diet. You know the one where he can only eat whatever he wants one day a week? Well, suddenly on that one day, Ken feels entitled to pursuing his interest in rare food items. So this past Sunday (or maybe late Saturday) Ken began talking about how he was going to eat Stroopwaffles on his day off. Fine! Sounds yummy! However, a problem arose when Ken suddenly had no idea where to find the rare Dutch treat. With the Peterson family as my witness, I swear that Ken called around 4-6 bakeries (who all proclaimed European treats) to track down his craving. He also physically went to Central Market to look. No such luck! But then, thanks to the Internet, he became hopeful when he discovered Bothell's Hillcrest Bakery. It wasn't open on Sunday so he couldn't call them. But bright and early Monday morning the whole family ventured out to see if the Hillcrest would deliver. The glass cases were full of delectable treats but the Stroopwaffles were not readily apparent. Then, lo and behold, I spotted a small stack of "Stroopies" in the back. Four dollars and fifty cents later Ken was the proud owner of a bag of "Stroopies". Here's him sharing his happiness:

I wonder what next Monday's rare treat adventures will hold!
